Crystal Lake, IL – March 21, 2018 – Reina Imaging is excited to announce the retention of our new lead mechanical design engineer, Joe Austen.  Joe came on board on February 12th and is making a prompt positive impact on the company. From designing industrial robotic arms to integrating an electrophoresis device and everything else in between, Joe’s broad background adds to the already solid foundation at Reina Imaging. Joe was born in Germany, emigrated to the US when he was four years old, and grew up in Chicago’s northwest side, now residing in Algonquin IL,  with his wife who is an Education Director and his son who is graduating this spring with a bachelors in biology and chemistry. He also has an adult daughter following in his footsteps in engineering.  A graduate from Lane Tech high school, Joe majored in mechanical drafting and brings with him a proven track record of success and a high level of passion for his profession. Joe has been a design and manufacturing engineer for over thirty years, successfully bringing home many critical projects spanning various industries. A self-proclaimed “robotics junkie,” he proudly owned, operated a robotics program for local 1st through 12th-grade students.  In his spare time, he enjoys tinkering with robotics and artistic endeavors such as airbrushing custom t-shirts.
